A Biblical Teaching Of The Pre-Tribulation Rapture
Get Versed on the Tribulation Here
There are varying opinions concerning the rapture. The three most common opinions are a pre-tribulation rapture, a mid-tribulation rapture and a post tribulation rapture. Those who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture believes Jesus Christ will come back for his church before the tribulation period begins. Mid-tribulation believers think that Jesus Christ will come back during the middle of the tribulation period. Finally, post tribulation believers think that the rapture will not come until after the Great Tribulation. The following article offers a Biblical teaching of the pre-tribulation rapture.
When the rapture occurs, followers of Christ will be removed from earth and taken to the judgement seat to be given their rewards. There are many scriptures used to prove a pre-tribulation rapture, including:
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 – This passage explains how Jesus will return for His followers. In Revelation 19:14, Christ returns with His people during Armageddon.
John 14:3 states that the believers will be taken to the Father’s house, while Matthew 24:30 explains that the believers will return with Jesus to rule and reign on Earth.
During the rapture, according to 1 Corinthians 15:52, Jesus will only be seen by His followers. Conversely, at the battle of Armageddon every eye shall see and ear shall hear (Matthew 24:30).
Another scripture that helps to prove that the pre-tribulation rapture will occur is Matthew 25:13. This scripture describes the return of Jesus will be unknown to the inhabitants of the Earth. Conversely, Revelation 12:6 states that the Jews must wait 1,260 days for the return of Jesus at his second coming. These two events cannot be the same. One is unknown, while the other one tells the exact number of days the Jews must wait.
The Old Testament prophet Zechariah states in Zechariah 14:5 that the armies of heaven who are clothed in fine linen will be there at His second coming. Revelation 19:8 states that fine linen is the clothing of the righteous saints.
It is important for religious students to understand that there is a difference between the rapture and the second coming of Christ. The rapture is when the saints are caught up together and taken to heaven. The second coming of Christ occurs when Jesus Christ comes back to Earth, does battle with the anti-christ and Jesus, along with His saints, rule and reign over the Earth for 1,000 years.
All of the scriptures supplied here clearly show that the rapture will occur before the tribulation period begins. At the end of the tribulation period, Jesus will return with all of His saints to do battle against the anti-christ. Then, the Millennial Reign will begin.
